Ingredients
  

Meatballs

  • 16 ounces ground beef (90/10 or 85/15)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Evenly season the meat mixture for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Toppings

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (cut into quarters) Try different types of cheese like pepper jack or Swiss for variety.
  • 8 small cherry or grape tomatoes (cut in half)
  • 16 small dill pickle chips
  • 16 small pieces lettuce

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Serve with your favorite condiments.
  • 1/4 cup relish
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 13x9-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Make 16 one-tablespoon sized balls of meat from the mixture. Place the meatballs on the baking tray and flatten each one slightly with your hand.

Cooking

  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • When the timer goes off, place a square of cheddar cheese on each meatball. Bake for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  • Using appetizer toothpicks, skewer a half of a tomato, a pickle, lettuce, and then the meatball.
  • Serve right away with the secret burger sauce and your favorite condiments like ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store Burger Bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through. You can prepare the meatballs and cheese ahead of time and just bake them right before serving.
