Puff Pastry Base

  • 1 sheet puff pastry Use store-bought for convenience.

Filling

  • 100 g blue cheese, crumbled Choose a good quality blue cheese.
  • 50 g walnuts, chopped You can substitute with other nuts if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped Feel free to experiment with other herbs.
  • 1 unit egg, beaten For egg wash.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares.
  • In a bowl, mix the blue cheese, walnuts, thyme, salt, and pepper.

Assembly and Baking

  • Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  • Fold the corners over the filling to create a pocket and seal with the beaten egg.
  • Brush the tops with more egg wash.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

These delicious twirls are perfect served warm and make great starters. Let leftovers cool and store in an airtight container for up to three days.
