Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the mixture over the pounded beef filet.
  • Roll the beef tightly and secure with kitchen twine or toothpicks.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Sear the beef rolls on all sides until browned.
  • Pour tomato sauce over the rolls, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.

Serving

  • Serve hot. Slice the rolls to reveal the filling inside. Pair with pasta or fresh salad.
  • A sprinkle of extra Parmesan cheese on top adds a nice touch.

Notes
