Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry

Ingredients
  

Beef and Vegetables

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced Slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust for spice preference.
  • 2 green onions, sliced For garnish.

Sauces and Oils

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil For cooking the beef and vegetables.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Use gluten-free if necessary.
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce Use gluten-free if necessary.
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced flank steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  • Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.

Stir Frying the Vegetables

  • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil.
  • Add the minced garlic, ginger, and red bell pepper.
  • Stir-fry for about 2 minutes until the bell pepper is tender.

Adding Cabbage

  • Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook for about 3-4 minutes until it wilts.

Combining Ingredients

  • Return the beef to the skillet.
  • Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Mix everything well and cook for another 2 minutes until heated through.

Serving

  • Top with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Best served immediately. Enjoy on its own or over rice/noodles. Add extra green onions or sesame seeds for more flavor.
