Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Boneless and skinless recommended.
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup fresh figs, chopped Use fresh figs for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Adjust to taste.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning.
  • Olive oil for cooking Use for skillet.

Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, honey, figs, garlic, and rosemary. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  • Brush chicken with the balsamic fig glaze during the last few minutes of cooking.

Serving

  • Serve hot, drizzled with extra glaze and garnished with fresh figs and rosemary.

Notes

To store leftovers, place the chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove. If you have extra glaze, store it separately and use within a week. You can add spices like black pepper or chili flakes for a bit of heat. Chopped nuts can be added for crunch.
