Brownie Base

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving. For richer taste, use dark cocoa powder.
