Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 packet yeast (or 2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water Use warm, not hot, water to activate the yeast.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix semolina, flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Gradually add warm water, whisking until smooth.
  • Cover and let the batter rise for about 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Pour a small amount of batter onto the pan, allowing it to spread out to form a pancake.
  • Cook until bubbles form and the surface is set, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove and repeat with the remaining batter.

Serving

  • Serve Baghrir warm with a drizzle of honey or a pat of butter on top. You can also pair them with jams or fresh fruit for added flavor.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store Baghrir in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave. Experiment with toppings like yogurt or fruit for extra flavor.
