Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 8 slices turkey bacon (or chicken/nitrate-free alternative)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: pickles (sugar-free for strict carnivore), mustard, extra cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  • Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbled
  • Stir in garlic and onion powder, along with salt and pepper
  • Arrange cooked beef in a 9-inch oven-safe skillet or pie dish
  • Top with crispy, pre-cooked turkey bacon slices
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef and bacon
  • Whisk eggs with heavy cream, then pour mixture into the skillet
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden and custard is set
  • Let cool slightly before slicing into wedges

Notes

For crisped bacon, cook slices in a skillet until browned and drain on paper towels
Pressing the beef mixture into the skillet ensures even layers
Letting the pie rest 10 minutes before serving prevents custard from spilling
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
